OUR SERVICES

WE WORK

With good training programs and careful matching of ability the needs of the local job market, most people with disabilities can be gainfully employed.

Opportunities for work training and employment are a major focus of services at the Center.  Training and employment are provided by the Work Operations Division on the main campus where men and women can earn pay for work performed on contracts obtained from local industry.  Others work in groups at local companies with a PBHC supervisor making sure that their quality of work meets with standards of the company.  The Center also operates mobile work crews that travel to various job sites or locations performing contracted work.  Our Supported Employment Department provides job coaches to help train individuals on their jobs in community businesses ensuring they make the successful transition to permanent employees.  Follow-along services are also provided in order to maintain the stability of the individuals on their jobs.

Today, Jobs
And Community Integration are Realities.

A variety of training opportunities are made available to meet the changing needs of the community job market.  A fully-equipped computer lab offers training in current software applications, including desktop publishing, data entry, graphic design, keyboarding, and different operating system platforms.  TJ’s Café offers a unique opportunity for individuals to learn all facets of the food services industry, including baking, salad preparation, short order and fry cooking, and cashiering.

It is our belief that work is not just a therapy but a responsibility to be accepted by all people.  We are committed to helping men and women make their own contributions to society and provide valuable human resources for the employment needs of this community.

Our group homes provide a more structured and supervised environment where men and women can learn skills that will enhance their independence and be assisted in accessing recreational and social opportunities in their community.
